Minutes of the 2017 AGM were approved & Signed by the Chairman.
Matters Arising :- None
Chairman’s Report :- (Mr. Colin Goldsack)
From my point of view the season has been quiet in that I have had to do nothing in the running of the league, apart from saying a few words here and there.
As ever, my colleagues on the committee, Barry and Nigel, have dealt with all the behind the scenes work admirably and, as I have said on previous occasions, as a league we owe much to them for the time and effort they put in. I’d like to thank Nigel and Barry for their work this year and say what a pleasure it has been working with them.
The season was made far more competitive this year because of the very generous gesture of our sponsor, Judith Blincow, to substantially increase the prize money to mark her 25 years of sponsorship. We will have our opportunity tomorrow evening to say our personal thankyou’s to her.
Congratulations to Staplecross on achieving their 10th league win; to runners up Iden and to third placed Fairlight.
My thanks, and the rest of the clubs in the League, to Fairlight for hosting a very successful Fling this year. The Sellings Cup was hosted by the Rother League at Gullivers in Bexhill and again was won by the Mermaid League.
I can’t finish without thanking all the clubs for taking part in the League and making the game such a pleasure to play.
Treasurers Report :- (Mr. Nigel Pearson)
Balance sheet was circulated,
Nigel presented the accounts for the year, the Chairman asked if there were any questions on the accounts, there being none they were accepted by all the clubs present.
(Terry Rogers of Staplecross.B.C. kindly agreed to sponsor again the League Website for £100 for the 2019 season.)
The Treasurer reminded everyone that the 2019 subs of £15 should be sent direct to him before the end of April 2019.
Bankers :- Our current banker Barclays Bank are to remain our Bankers for the coming year.
Secretary’s Report :- (Mr. Barry Quaife)
Barry said that the season had gone very well with very few problems. The new system of match result reporting has worked well and will continue for the 2019 season.
Finally thanks to Colin and Nigel for their help when I needed clarifications on any points.
